Torquesor.com – BMW Vision Concept
By · Comments
BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept is a two-door hybrid car that can get 62 mph in only 4.8 seconds and still uses less fuel than a Toyota Prius. That’s as quick as the Porsche 911, but with the EfficientDynamics stamp all over it.
The synchronous electric motor placed at the front axle constantly outputs 80 horsepower. Extra power of 112 hp is available for 30 seconds and for 10 seconds, 139 horsepower. Total torque: 162 lb-ft.
BMW VED introduces for the first time “layered surfacing”, both in interior and exterior design. BMW design chief Adrian van Hooydonk says “layered surfacing” creates a more cohesive and harmonious appearance while also optimizing air flow.
Complementing the Vision’s futuristic exterior design with its “bird wings doors”, the interior of the car has a flowing instrument panel and unique seating arrangement. The upholstery is mostly made with natural materials although Kevlar is used for the seats. A car with this styling needs adequate gadgetry and a new 3D head-up display is included.
The VED Concept is rumored to serve as a starting point for a future eco-racing car coming in 2013.
The 3-cylinder turbodiesel engine has a rear/mid-mounted placement with the second electric motor residing between the turbodiesel engine and the 6-Speed DCT gearbox. The 1.5-liter 3-cylinder turbodiesel engine outputs 163 horsepower and 214 lb-ft. of torque. The rear-mounted electric motor produces 33 horsepower continuously(51 hp peak) and maximum torque of 214 lb-ft.

Handmade rubber stamps 101
By · Comments
Make your own stamps! It’s inexpensive and fun.
The rubbery material is (what I think is called) Soft-kut printing blocks at Blick, the art supply store closest to me. You can also buy the pink Speedy Stamp, which is more expensive. I once tried out Speedy Cut, which is less flexible and crumbles a lot. So ask where they keep the Speedy Stamp/cut and you should find the soft rubbery material that I used. PZ Kut is also a nice, durable material that stamp makers love to use. The carving material is called a “lino cutter”, and it also carves linoleum blocks that you can also buy at a craft store. The one I am using in the video is by Speedball, and I like the variety of tips and the fact that you can store them in the handle. You can use any inkpad, I was just trying to be fancy by using the Speedball ink. Happy carving!
